Postdoctoral fellow Implementation Science

January 2023 – January 2026 (60-100%)

The Institute of Nursing Science (INS) at the University of Basel (https://nursing.unibas.ch ) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow to join a large implementation science project in the residential long- term care setting. The INS is ranked in the top 50 for Nursing worldwide (Shanghai Ranking 2022). The position will allow the candidate to develop their own research portfolio focusing on care provision for older adults and implementation science research in long-term care. The position will be anchored in the INTERSCALE project which aims to scale-up the nurse-led care model INTERCARE , a care model that successfully decreases unplanned hospitalizations from long-term care facilities (i.e., nursing homes). This is a temporary position (3 years with possibility of prolongation).

Your position

• Apply and further develop implementation science methodology
• Plan, coordinate and carry out different stages of an implementation science research project (hybrid III cluster-randomized trial with process evaluation)
• Develop, initiate and monitor data collection, analyze both quantitative and qualitative data
• Disseminate research results through presentations at conferences and publications in peer reviewed journals
• Supervise and support PhD and Master students
• Participate in teaching activities of the Master in Nursing Science curriculum
• Prepare applications for competitive research funding

Your profile

• PhD or equivalent degree in nursing science, implementation science, health services research, public health, health economics, behavioral science or a related field
• Sound methodological skills with experience in implementation science, both qualitative and quantitative approaches and knowledge of statistical analysis software such as R or STATA
• Experience in long-term care research is highly recommended
• Strong planning and organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication, and ability to work successfully in an interprofessional team
• Highly motivated to take a leadership role in a growing research group
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and support graduate students
• Fluent in English, working proficiency in German or intention to learn
