Postdoc position in Computational Social Science / Semantic Urban Elements for Cyber-Physical Cities

The Professorship of Computational Social Science (COSS) invites applicants to apply for a Postdoc position in Computational Social Science / Semantic Urban Elements for Cyber-Physical Cities. The Researchis focused on:

  • bringing modelling and computer simulation of social processes and transportation phenomena together with technology, experimental, and data-driven work,
  • combining the perspectives of different scientific disciplines (e.g., social science, computer science, complexity science and sociophysics),
  • bridging fundamental and applied work,
  • developing digital tools to support people and studying the resulting behaviour.

Job description

You will contribute to an ambitious international research project on Semantic Urban Elements for Cyber-Physical Cities in close collaboration with Singapore. The project asks how geo-data science, Semantic Web Technologies (SWT) applied to urban design and Computational Social Science approaches can be harnessed to achieve sustainable, resilient, and liveable cities. We are involved in a Work Package on smart elements and adaptable infrastructures.

For Postdocs, the initial contract would usually last for 2 years and maybe later extended.
