Postdoc or Experienced Graduate

The ETH Zurich Bioprocess Laboratory (Prof. Panke), an international (currently 9 different nationalities) and interdisciplinary (microfluidics, enzyme engineering, synthetic biology, bioprocesses) group located at the Basel campus of ETH Zurich and part of the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (D‐BSSE) (www.bsse.ethz.ch/bpl , www.twitter.com/BPL_ethz ). We are in direct vicinity to – and constant exchange with – the life-science industry and academic research groups of the greater Basel area.


Job description

We are committed to the design, optimization, and application of microbial whole-cell biocatalysts. You will become part of a team closely collaborating with industrial partners and you will be involved in R&D touching on most aspects of industrial biocatalysis on its way “from gene to product”.


Your profile

You have a solid background in molecular biology, biochemistry, and / or microbiology. Achievements in at least one of these fields are mandatory. Additionally, experience with hydroxylases (especially with CYP450 monooxygenases; E.C. 1.14.13.X), big data, and / or fermentation technology are pluses.
