PostDoc Position in the field of development of elastomer based sensor arrays

For an industrial project, funded by a swiss agency, we are looking for a highly motivated PostDoc with a strong background in elastomer based sensor arrays. The project focus is on the development of low cost high conductive elastomers. Processing methods to achieve large structures will be developed. The compounding and the processing will be transferred to the industrial parter. The project is in collaboration with OST applied university.

Your Tasks:

  • Explore and develop high conductive elastomer composites.
  • Rheological analysis of the composites for printing applications.
  • Explore and develop processing method for industrial scale up.
  • Electro-mechanical characterization.
  • Microstructure analysis.

Your Profile:

You have a PhD in materials science, mechanical engineering or a similar field. Previous experience with one or more of the following topics is required: Elastomers with conductive fillers, electro-mechanical characterization of soft materials and design of elastomer based sensor arrays. The experimental nature of the work requires a very high level of experimental skills, an analytical mindset for interpreting results and the ability to design innovative experiments. You are a team player and your strengths include taking personal responsibility, excellence and flexibility to work and deliver results. Knowledge of German is beneficial but not mandatory.
