PostDoc on development of new low-emission cements (a)
Your tasks

You will work on a cutting-edge, applied science project funded by Innosuisse devoted to development of a novel cement type with reduced CO2 emissions. The project will be run in close collaboration with industrial partners from energy and cement sectors. With support of our senior scientists and lab technicians experienced in cement chemistry and concrete technology, you will carry out research on the novel cement: chemical characterization, microstructure development, mechanical properties, durability, etc. You will analyze the experimental data, prepare project reports and high-profile scientific publications (peer-reviewed papers, international conferences). You will coordinate the validation/demonstration projects that will enhance dissemination and fast acceptance of the developed solution in the market of cement and concrete.


Your profile
  • A PhD degree in Materials Science, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Earth Sciences or a related field; 
  • Experience in cement, concrete or building materials is required; 
  • Full proficiency in English (scientific writing, communication with a multi-national team); 
  • Proficiency in German is not required but is an advantage; 
  • Independent, innovative and critically-thinking; 
  • Excellent communication skills, ready to work together with industry partners and create an effective link between science and industrial applications.
