Your mission :

We are seeking a person to support the building of new relationships, donor stewardship and will contribute to the overall fundraising efforts of the Philanthropy team.


Main duties and responsibilities include :
  • Address key fundraising priorities and co-contribute to strategies for securing a diverse base of HNWIs, trusts and foundations and corporate support
  • Facilitate the building of relationships between the donor and the institution, and ensure high quality stewardship
  • Support the coordination and negotiations of contracts to ensure the schools’ procedures and guidelines are followed
  • Co-lead the identification of prospective donors for future and existing philanthropy initiatives. In collaboration with the Director of the Development Office, the Head of Donor Engagement, as well as the Donor Communication and Operations Manage, you will carry out further research and develop cultivation and solicitation strategies
  • Participate in the development of cases for support, proposals and reports; assist with evaluation plans and reviews; work closely with other members of the development office and faculties to coordinate efforts and ensure alignment to overall strategy
  • Work closely with the Director of the Development Office and the Donor Communication and Operations Manager to liaise with faculties and staff, help to manage funding goals, objectives and desired outcomes
  • Participate in site visits and attend EPFL’s donor centric related events
  • Keep accurate records, track progress related to prospects and ensure timely acknowledgment and proper follow-up
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the team as required

Your profile :
  • University Degree or equivalent level of expertise
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant fundraising experience
  • Strong interest for education, research and innovation in STEM and related fields
  • Bilingual French - English, other languages a plus
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to transform scientific information into clear, compelling communication for donors and prospects
  • Experience in project management and relationship building
  • Team player with clear and confident communication style
  • Superior interpersonal and listening skills and the proven ability to navigate within a multilayered, decentralized organization
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Positive, can-do attitude with strong desire to take initiative.
