Your position

The candidate will have the opportunity to apply and optimize cutting-edge molecular methods, in particular those for the generation of 3D in vitro models that adequately recapitulate the tumor architecture and mimic the cell-to-cell interactions within the tissue microenvironment. This includes generation and maintenance of patient-derived tumor organoids, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs), and Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes (TILs). The project will be conducted in close collaboration with researchers within the newly established Institute for Translational Bioengineering (ITB) and Roche Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development (pRED), opening possibilities for direct translational applications, and granting the candidate exposure to a major pharmaceutical company.

Main responsibilities include

  • Processing of patient derived samples according to pre-established guidelines (e.g. tissue dissociation, isolation of PBMCs/ TILs, endothelial cells, sample freezing and storage, nucleic acids and protein extraction, and co-culture generation), cell culture and lab maintenance.
  • Updating database for the processed biological samples
  • Performing flow cytometry
  • General support functions and maintenance of the lab within the scope of this project
