Your mission :
The Auwerx lab (LISP) is heavily focused on mouse and human genetics, as well as systems biology, applied to large C. elegans, mouse genetic reference populations and large human populations (e.g. UKBB, Estonian biobank, etc). We are looking for a dynamic geneticist with experience in statistical genetics and/or computational bioinformatics to complement and support our multi-disciplinary team of scientists. The candidate should have strong background in genetics, statistics and programming, as well as a keen interest in human disease patho-physiology. He/she will be working in close collaborations with a team of systems biologists and physiologists, as well as medical experts and the biopharma industry.


Main duties and responsibilities include :
  • Establish reproducible pipelines and best practices for genetic and omic data analyses.
  • Using the above pipeline, interrogate human genetic datasets as a complement to mouse and worm system genetics results from the laboratory.
  • Coordinate the biological validation and translation of the results in with a team of bio-medical specialists.

Your profile :
  • PhD in genetics, biomedical sciences, bioinformatics or relevant fields.
  • Excellent understanding of biology for interpretation of results.
  • Hands on experience with large sequencing, genotypic and phenotypic datasets. Experience with other omics data is considered a plus.
  • Good knowledge of statistical, computational and machine learning methods for handling high dimensional datasets.
  • Good programming proficiency as well as fluency in python and/or R.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix.
  • Experience in HPC, cloud computing, and container technologies are considered a plus.
