The EPFL employs more than 6,000 people supporting the three main missions of the institutions: education, research and innovation. The EPFL campus offers an exceptional working environment at the heart of a community of more than 16,000 people, including over 12,000 students and 4,000 researchers from more than 120 different countries.

Your mission :
The Auwerx lab (LISP) is heavily focused on mouse and human genetics, as well as systems biology, applied to large C. elegans, mouse genetic reference populations and large human populations (e.g. UKBB, Estonian biobank, etc). We are looking for a dynamic geneticist with experience in statistical genetics and/or computational bioinformatics to complement and support our multi-disciplinary team of scientists. The candidate should have strong background in genetics, statistics and programming, as well as a keen interest in human disease patho-physiology. He/she will be working in close collaborations with a team of systems biologists and physiologists, as well as medical experts and the biopharma industry.

Main duties and responsibilities include :
  • Establish reproducible pipelines and best practices for genetic and omic data analyses.
  • Using the above pipeline, interrogate human genetic datasets as a complement to mouse and worm system genetics results from the laboratory.
  • Coordinate the biological validation and translation of the results in with a team of bio-medical specialists.

Your profile :
  • PhD in genetics, biomedical sciences, bioinformatics or relevant fields.
