Assistant Professor (non tenure track) for Translational Polytrauma Research
The position is to be established at the Department of Traumatology of the University Hospital Zurich, immediately available and limited to a total duration of 6 years.
The Assistant Professor is expected to represent the discipline in research, teaching and clinical services. The professorship will devote equal shares to research and teaching and clinical care of patients. The University of Zurich, the University Hospital Zurich and the nearby ETH Zurich offer an excellent environment for motivated qualified young researchers.
Successful candidates have acquired substantial experience in the clinical treatment of severely injured patients and can demonstrate a corresponding teaching activity. Extensive interest and scientific expertise in «Safe Definitive Surgery», which is to be evaluated in clinical studies, are additional important qualifications. Therefore, experience with basic animal studies as well as clinical studies is required. Ideally, your research activity has already gained significant international recognition and is already supported by the successful acquisition of competitive external funding. Documented leadership in trauma surgery at the senior physician level is also desired.
You have an integrative personality and like to cooperate in interdisciplinary teams. Excellent organizational skills and high resilience to stress are expected.
German language skills at level B2 of the common European framework of reference for languages should be available or must be acquired within a reasonable period of time.
