The Nanomaterials Engineering Research Group at the Institute for Chemical and Bioengineering is an interdisciplinary team composed of chemical engineers, physicists, chemists, materials scientists, and electrical engineers focusing on physics and chemistry of nanomaterials for advancing nanomaterials-based electronics and optoelectronics. For the young, ambitious group we are looking forward for an administrative assistant for Prof. Chih-Jen Shih and his research group as per December 1st, 2021 or earlier.

Job description

In this position, you are responsible for the smooth processes and the independent management of the group secretariat and provide proactive support in all administrative and organizational matters. E.g. overlooking the finances, reporting of SNF, Innosuisse, EU etc., projects, business expenses, processing of invoices etc. In addition, you take care of the group's personnel administration, e.g. act as an interface between new candidates and HR, or monitor the groups holiday and absences. General secretarial work such as organizing trips, seminars and events round off the position. Written and oral communication in English and German is important.

Your profile

You have completed a commercial apprenticeship with a few years of experience in higher education or the ETH environment. You work very independently, responsibly, and, thanks to your quick perception, you can skillfully deal with changing requirements. In addition, you have very good written and spoken English and German skills and master the common MS office programs easily. You convince with your efficient, prudent and forward-looking way of working, your initiative and organizational talent.
