Two-Year Postdoc in Remote Sensing at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden

Job description

The postdoc is expected to participate in the on-going project HARMONIA, conduct high-quality research on remote sensing for various applications, including urban mapping, urbanization monitoring, disaster management and decision support, environmental change monitoring and impact assessment, writing scientific papers, co-supervise PhD students, and participate in teaching of courses in remote sensing, image processing and applications. 

Funded by the EU Horizon 2020 program, the HARMONIA project aims to develop a decision support system for improved resilience and sustainability in urban areas to cope with climate change and extreme events. Specifically, HARMONIA will focus on two types of Climate Change (CC) effects:

  • - Natural and manmade hazards intensified by CC, including urban flooding, land degradation and geohazards (landslides, earthquake, ground deformation)
  • - Manmade hazards, such as urban heat islands, air quality, greenhouse gas emissions.
