We are looking for a teaching assistants in Quality Management and Engineering.


The position

We are searching for 1-4 teaching assistants to support teaching activities in Quality Management courses in the Division of Logistics and Quality Management starting autumn semester of 2024 until the end of spring semester 2025. Work as a teaching assistant will include teaching, tutoring in computer class sessions, assisting teachers in class sessions and laborations, assisting teachers at seminars and marking exams in Quality Management and Engineering courses. Work may also include lighter forms of administration and coordination of teaching activities and also assisting in research projects.


The person we need

Only those admitted to first or second-cycle courses and study programmes may be employed as teaching assistants. To work as a teaching assistant, it is required to have a background with relevant courses in Quality Management and Engineering.

The position as teaching assistant is hourly paid and is directly linked to the Quality Management courses offered by the Division of Logistics and Quality Management at Linköping University. If need be, the position as teaching assistant will also be linked to the research projects conducted at the Division of Logistics and Quality Management. The tasks as a teaching assistant may be varied and may emerge at short notice. This requires a degree flexibility and availability for the teaching assistant.  For this position it is necessary to possess pedagogical and interpersonal skills as well as a genuine interest for the field of Quality Management and Engineering. Furthermore, we anticipate that any applicant possess an adequate level of diligence and responsibility.  

In order to be eligible for application it is required that any applicant can present necessary documentation proving ongoing Master of science studies in Industrial Engineering and Management or Mechanical Engineering and that the applicant has completed first-cycle courses with a minimum of 60 credits or that the applicant has started second-cycle studies. It is required that any applicant should have completed one or several courses within Quality Management offered by the Division of Logistics and Quality Management, preferably second cycle level courses, and that the applicant has proficiency in statistical process control.

Teaching is mostly done in English, thereby requiring adequate English language proficiency, but we are also looking for Swedish speaking teaching assistants for our courses held in Swedish.

The employment

The position as teaching assistant is designed to accommodate full time studies and the scope and extent of the required work, as well as starting time, will be decided after mutual agreement.


Salary and employment benefits

Salary according to LiU's central agreement on teaching assistans salaries. The position is hourly paid.
