Would you like to be part of a team and influence Uppsala University´s environmental work? Do you have ideas about how the University can take sustainability issues to the next level? Do you want to engage our 7 000 employees and 50 000 students? Uppsala University´s Sustainability Forum is looking for tow student employees with a great interest in sustainability issues. The Sustainability Forum was inaugurated during the autumn semester of 2023 and is a sustainability initiative based on the Vice-Chancellor's decision to create a Green Office. The forum will serve as a platform to incentivise students' and employees' further engagement in sustainability issues. The Sustainability Forum is part of the university's environmental function. You will be part of a team that together has the task of supporting the university's activities in environmental and climate work. The Sustainability Forum is located in the Segerstedt building, which will also be your primary workplace.

As an employee at the Sustainability Forum, you will have the opportunity to help build and communicate the university's sustainability work. Here you will meet others with the same interests and there will also be some room to develop your own sustainability initiatives.

Duties
Duties include administrative and practical tasks related to the Sustainability Forum. Depending on your skills and interests, your tasks may include:

  • Map the university’s activities and initiatives related to sustainability, climate and environmental issues. Monitor what is happening within and outside the university.
  • Analyse and compile statistics.
  • Plan, prepare and implement events.
  • Communicate activities within the Sustainability Forum.
  • Assisting in the staffing of the Sustainability Forum.
  • Producing and editing short films.

All work is carried out in close co-operation with other staff in the environmental office.

Requirements
In order to be eligible for employment as a student employee, the student must be pursuing full-time studies at a Swedish university or college, have completed approved studies corresponding to 60 higher education credits, not have started postgraduate studies and not have another type of time-limited employment at Uppsala University. International students are also welcome to apply.

You should be comfortable with taking initiative and have a great interest in sustainability issues. You are a good communicator and enjoy working in an interactive environment. You need to be able to work independently as well as in a team and appreciate a variety of tasks. You need to have a good knowledge of English in speech and writing.

Additional qualifications
It is desirable that you have basic knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

About the employment
The employment is time-limited according to the central collective agreement. The scope is 25%. Start date 1 august 2024 or by agreement. Location: Uppsala
