The Department of Philosophy is a department within the Faculty of Humanities with about 58 employees and about 1500 students each year. The activity at the department comprises teaching and research within both practical and theoretical philosophy, as well as teaching on external courses in the philosophy of science.

Subject/subject description
Theoretical philosophy, with a special emphasis on the philosophy of science and the philosophy of physics.

Main responsibilities
The position involves teaching of undergraduates and of master students, primarily in the areas of philosophy of science and philosophy of physics.

Outside of teaching, a lecturer employed at the department of philosophy is expected to contribute to the internal work at the department, which comprises general administrative tasks. The position includes time for competence development and research in accordance with the collective agreement in force.

Qualification requirements
In order to qualify for employment as Senior Lecturer, the applicant must have demonstrated teaching skills and have a doctoral degree or equivalent expertise.

A general assessment criterion is the ability to collaborate, as well as other general abilities required to perform one’s duties.

Applicants are expected to master English, both in writing and in speech.

Assessment criteria
In the appointment process, special and equal attention will be given to research skills and teaching skills.

Special attention will be given to prior experiences in teaching the course Philosophy of Science I, 7.5 credits, at Stockholm university.

Teaching and learning in higher education
Completed training in teaching and learning in higher education worth at least 15 credits, or equivalent knowledge, is an advantage.

Terms of employment
The position involves part-time (60 %) employment during the autumn term 2022. Start date to be agreed upon.
