Welcome to Linnaeus University! Here you'll meet 2 200 staff members and 40 000 students, all united in following the vision to set knowledge in motion for a sustainable societal development. With us, research and education are conducted with an eye towards the future. Our proximity to the business world, both locally and globally, gives us a wide reach and the ability to create change that makes an impact. All that's needed is a place where ideas have the space to meet and grow. That's what we've created – and you are invited.

Change starts here!

The School of Business and Economics, one of five faculties at Linnaeus University, engages in research, education, and collaboration in the fields of business administration, economics, statistics, and tourism studies. The School of Business and Economics is accredited by AACSB.

Globalisation and new technologies, such as automation, digitalisation, and AI, bring both challenges and opportunities, leading to the emergence of entirely new forms of leadership and organisation, as well as products and services; business models; markets; and competitors. For this to contribute to a positive societal development, understanding the change in businesses and public operations is crucial. Research shows that key factors involve innovation and entrepreneurship; leadership; organisation; financing; robust supply chains; and new forms of marketing.

These are areas where the School of Business and Economics plays a vital role. We are now investing heavily to tailor our activities to the challenges presented by the technological shift and in future-oriented teaching and research environments where big data, digital tools, and methods are used interactively to create and transfer new knowledge.

Given this, there has been an increased demand for research competence, doctoral supervision, and teaching in leadership, organisation, and human resource management (HRM). Therefore, we are looking for a distinguished senior lecturer who wants to join us on this developmental journey!

The position is within the subject area of organisation and leadership at the Department of Management at the School of Business and Economics. Activities are conducted on campus in Kalmar and Växjö, as well as digitally.

Subject area for the position: business administration with specialisation in organisation and leadership. The position is part of the Department of Management at the School of Business and Economics.
Placement: Kalmar or Växjö. The majority of the employment is to be carried out on the placement location, but duties may also take place at other locations within the university.
Terms of employment: Permanent position, 100%.
Start date: By agreement. A probationary period is normally applied.

Job description

We are looking for a distinguished senior lecturer, preferably with, or on their way to, associate professor competence who is eager to drive our continued development in both research and education. The position involves planning and conducting teaching and examinations at undergraduate and graduate levels, including supervision of theses, as well as supervision of doctoral students. The subject focus is primarily on leadership, organisation, and management, but teaching may also cover other related areas.

Relevant research and active participation in the continued development of the subject area is prioritised. Collaboration with other teachers/researchers and the surrounding society is included, and you are expected to take an active role in the faculty's development work. Our work is conducted in both Swedish and English.

For the first two years, the position includes 40 percent research time, thereafter according to the current work time agreement (20 percent).

Qualification requirements
Eligible for appointment as senior lecturer is someone who has demonstrated teaching expertise and been awarded a doctoral degree in business administration, or has equivalent scientific competence with relevance to the position. Equivalent scientific competence generally refers to a degree from a foreign university with essentially the same level and quality as a Swedish doctoral degree in business administration.

Assessment criteria
The degree of expertise required for eligibility for appointment as senior lecturer will apply. The assessment of teaching expertise shall be given as much attention as the assessment of other eligibility conditions.

Guiding the assessment of scientific expertise is the independence, scope, and quality of the individual's research. For this position, the ability to collaborate in research environments and to successfully apply for external research funding will also be assessed.

Teaching expertise must have been demonstrated through teaching and refers to the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching, as well as supervision and examination. The teaching expertise should demonstrate a reflective approach to students' learning and to the individual's own teaching role.

Additionally meritorious
Associate professor qualifications or equivalent academic merits, with focus on leadership, organisation, and/or management:
- Completed higher education teaching training in accordance with SUHF's national guidelines
- Experience in supervising or examining doctoral students
- Documented good collaboration skills
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative in digital teaching
- Applied for and received external project funding
- Oral and written proficiency in Swedish
- Experience in teaching within executive education/MBA programmes

Balance between assessment criteria
Teaching and scientific expertise are considered of equal importance. Furthermore, the additional merit-based criteria will be actively taken into account.
