Main responsibilities
The position involves the developing and teaching undergraduate- and master’s levels in finance, as well as contract education in Sweden and abroad. The responsibilities also include course coordination, independent research and supervision of students at different levels. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to the development of the finance subject’s research affiliation, as well as participate in the internal work of the school and the pedagogical development of the subject. Teaching is mainly conducted in English.

Qualification requirements
Eligible applicants for the position of senior lecturer should hold a PhD in business administration with a specialisation in corporate finance or financial economics, or have equivalent research skills and have demonstrated teaching expertise.
The applicant must be able to demonstrate documented teaching skills and experience from teaching corporate finance or financial economics.
Teaching proficiency should normally have been demonstrated through teaching experience at both undergraduate- and master’s levels in finance education. Teaching proficiency should be well documented in a manner that makes it possible to assess the quality of the teaching activities.
The applicant must have the ability to cooperate with colleagues as well as other abilities that are required in order successfully to meet the demands of the position.

Assessment criteria
Special and equal emphasis will be placed on:

  • teaching skills demonstrated through teaching in undergraduate- and master’s levels, as well as supervision, course coordination and pedagogical development within finance.
  • research skills demonstrated through independent research in finance.
  • Research skills demonstrated through international publications in finance within the last five years

Strong emphasis will be placed on:

  • Documented ability to cooperate well with colleagues and fellow researchers

Emphasis will also be placed on:

  • administrative skills and proven collaboration with the surrounding society and dissemination of research and development findings.
  • having successfully planned, applied for and obtained research project funds from external research funding bodies.

Teaching and learning in higher education
It is a merit to have completed at least 15 higher education credits of teaching and learning in higher education or have otherwise acquired the equivalent knowledge.

An applicant who does not have at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education, and is not deemed to have acquired equivalent knowledge, must complete such training within the first two years of employment.
Proficiency in Swedish is not a requirement for the position, but the applicant has to be ready to take on administrative and pedagogical tasks that demand an understanding and usage of Swedish after two years of employment.
