The sleep science group combines neuroscientifc and cardio-metabolic methods (-omics, neurobehavioral tests, sleep registration, Actiheart, clinical biochemical measures, mobile app, etc) to examine how sleep disruptions alter the crosstalk between the brain and body, and as such contribute to the development of diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, depression, obesity, and typ-2-diabetes. Duties
We are looking for a highly motivated researcher who will primarily focus on the effects of sleep and circadian rhythms on type 2 diabetes glycemic control. As the data have been collected, the project will involve statistical analysis, interpretation of results, and drafting manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements:

  • The candidate is required to hold a Ph.D. degree in natural sciences, sports medicine, or human medicine.
  • The candidate has published at least five first-author publications with sleep as the primary focus.
  • The candidate is fluent in English, written and spoken.
  • The candidate can understand Swedish.
  • The candidate is capable of working individually.
  • Be familiar with working in a team and share expertise and knowledge with other members of the group.

Additional qualifications
Completed postdoctoral fellowship and/or researcher position in neuroscience. 

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position, 7 months. Scope of employment 50 %. Starting date 2022-01-01 or as agreed. Placement: Uppsala.
