The Department of Zoology, a vibrant international community consisting of five interactive and collaborative divisions: Ecology, Ethology, Functional Morphology, Population Genetics, and Systematics and Evolution. The advertised position will be part of the Division of Functional Morphology.

Project description
Candidates will have the exciting opportunity to join an existing project focusing on the behaviour and morphology of bumblebees. Climate change is already shown to have a negative effect on pollinators and their population size. We investigate how high ambient temperatures (both short-term exposure and throughout animal development) affect the morphology, cognition, and behaviour of bumblebees.

Main responsibilities
The appointed person will assist researchers working on this project by aiding in the development of both behavioural experiments and anatomical analyses.

Qualification requirements
Researchers are appointed primarily for purposes of research and must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.

Assessment criteria
In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills, particularly experience with geometric morphometrics and studying insect behaviour. Knowledge of bumblebee keeping is an advantage.

Terms of employment
The position involves full-time employment for a maximum of 8 months. Start date 2023-03-01 or as per agreement.
