We are looking for a Research Engineer formally based at the Division of Cell Biology (CELLB). 


The position

The main research focus of the Division of Cell Biology is to understand the construction and function of cells.
This includes genetic and molecular studies as well as studies of cell communication and how different cells form tissues and organisms. By gaining an understanding of cell biological processes the ultimate goal of the research is to find new ways to prevent, diagnose and cure disease.

The division is involved in medical and biomedical education programs, both at undergraduate and Master’s level, as well as in education of PhD-students and post-doctoral fellows.

The current position is placed in our research group studying the effect of the father's diet on the next generation using DrosophilaMelnogaster. Now we are looking for someone who wants to work in this group over the summer


The person we need

We are looking for someone who have a high school diploma and are accepted to an education program relevant to the employment.It is particularly advantageous if you have experience with the following techniques and methods:

  • Drosophila
  • qPCR
  • Western blot

The position requires very good knowledge of spoken and written English. We are looking for you who are thorough and efficient.You are characterized by good communication and collaboration skills and you have a responsive approach.Great emphasis willbe placed on personal qualities and suitability.


The workplace

The position is located in the Division of Cell Biology (CELLB) , in Anita Östs research group.

The Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV) is one of the university's largest departments with operations primarily within the Faculty of Medicine. Our goal is to conduct education and research in medicine and biomedicine, with high international quality.

The employment

Full time, special fixed-term employment in 3 weeks.
