The Department of Archaeology and Classical Studies is the largest archaeological environment in Sweden. It consists of seven sections: Archaeology, Stockholm Numismatic Institute, Archaeological Research Laboratory, Osteoarchaeological Research Laboratory, Classical Archaeology and Ancient History, Centre for the Study of Cultural Evolution and Centre of Pelaeogenetics. Both the research and the education at the Department comprise different areas and time periods.

CPG currently needs a research engineer who can perform administrative work and some laboratory tasks for the various research groups.

Main responsibilities
The main duties are to administer the operations at CPG, including the purchase of materials, information and support to staff and visiting researchers, meeting administration, organizing common consumables lists, as well as managing mail, accessibility systems, and common infrastructure. A smaller part of the work also consists of supporting CPG's researchers with laboratory work on degraded DNA.

Qualification requirements
We are looking for someone with at least one year of administrative work experience in a research environment, as well as documented experience of laboratory work on degraded DNA. Previous experience of working with the administrative tools and financial systems available at Stockholm University is considered a merit.

As the role entails administrative support for a workplace comprising multiple research groups, personal qualities and time management skills will be of considerable importance. We also attach great importance to cooperation skills, independent work and taking your own initiative. The duties require a developed sense of responsibility and a willingness to help colleagues when needed, as well as excellent skills in oral and written communication in both Swedish and English.

Terms of employment
This is a full-time, indefinite-term position with a six-month trial period. Salaries at Stockholm University are determined individually; therefore, please indicate your requested salary. Start date immediately.
