Research coordinator

The Department of History of Science and Ideas is a dynamic research environment with strong profiles in history of science, intellectual history and history of medicine. It is Sweden’s largest centre for study within this field and is internationally renowned for its research. There are currently over forty academics, researchers and visiting scholars attached to the Department, including 15 doctoral students. Duties                                                                                                                                                  The duties include planning, coordinating and carrying out the collection of materials from libraries, archives and digital sources in Sweden and other countries for historical research projects. Processing and compiling such material, as well as research literature is also included. It also includes providing qualified support in connection with the initiation and development of project and program applications to funding agencies and research foundations in Sweden and within the EU. Other administrative tasks may also be included.

Requirements                                                                                                                                   Advanced level degree in humanities or social science subjects. Experience of having participated in research and/or of having provided research support in the humanities and social sciences. Very good knowledge of both spoken and written academic English is prerequisite for employment.

Additional qualifications                                                                                                                Experience of qualified editorial work, processing application texts or otherwise supporting application processes is particularly advantageous. Knowledge of French is a merit. Great importance will be placed on the ability to work independently and on personal suitability.
