The Department of Public Health Sciences is a department at the Faculty of Social Sciences, with around 70 employees. We offer a dynamic, interdisciplinary, and internationally leading research environment. The Department houses two research centres: Centre for Health Equity Studies (CHESS) and Centre for Social Research on Alcohol and Drugs (SoRAD). We offer education at the basic, advanced, and doctoral levels.

Main responsibilities
The research assistant will collaborate with researcher Viviane Straatmann in a research project that aims to investigate changes in parental mental health after having a child placed into out-of-home care (i.e. child welfare services). The tasks consist of elaboration of scientific articles including the processing of longitudinal data, robust statistical analyses and article writing.

Qualification requirements
Applicants must have a master's degree in public health science or equivalent with a degree date or completed program studies, no later than when the employment begins. The candidate must have excellent English skills (oral and written) as well as practical experience in processing and analysing quantitative data. Good knowledge of the statistics program Stata is a requirement as well as experience working with birth cohorts, particularly with intergenerational links. Special emphasis is placed on documented knowledge in the subject areas of the research project. Experience of working in a research environment is an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on communication and collaboration skills as well as independence.

Terms of employment
