The Department of Zoology is one of the departments at the Faculty of Science. The main research areas are Ethology, Ecology, Population Genetics, Functional Morphology and Systematics.

Main responsibilities
The applicant’s main resposibilities would be to utilize existing RNA-seq data to characterize long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) and associate their expression with experimental treatments.

Qualification requirements
We are looking for someone with extensive experience with RNA-seq data and bioinformatic tools for characterizing lncRNA. Familiarity with the study system, the pied (Ficedula hypoleuca) and collared (F. albicollis) flycatchers, is highly advantageous. The applicant must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Terms of employment
This is a full-time, fixed-term position starting from 2024-01-15 until 2024-06-30. Salaries at Stockholm University are determined individually; therefore, please indicate your requested salary.
