Research Assistant in pancreatic cancer histopathology

We are looking for a Research Assistant to the department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology in Marco Gerling’s research group belonging to the unit of surgery and oncology. 


Your mission

The group performs research on colorectal and pancreatic cancer and is looking for assistance with histological data analysis for a project on pancreatic cancer invasion. You will work with digital pathology and use software tools to annotate specific histological regions on digital images. You will identify anatomical structures, annotate them, and quantify their spatial relationships. You will also perform, under supervision, stains for proteins and mRNAs and analyze their abundance in the tissue based on images.

The position is a temporary position for 6 months.


Your profile

As a research assistant you have a background in and previous experience with histopathology. Experience with handling medium-level data analysis of complex data in R is a strong plus. You must be able to understand written medical Swedish to some extent, but you need not be able to communicate fluently. Basic knowledge of cancer biology is required.

Emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
