A Research Assistant position within a collaborative project with ultimate mission to understand how the interplay between the peripheral and central nervous systems in regulating pain sensation, is immediately available in the laboratory of Senior Researcher Saida Hadjab who heads a young group at Karolinska Institutet, department of Neuroscience, in the dynamic environment of BIOMEDICUM.
Your mission
This is an opportunity to study pain pathways modulation using manipulation, elimination, and visualization of genetically defined cells which can be combined with electrophysiology, calcium imaging, optogenetics, tracing and behavior testing.
Your profile
We are looking for a creative scientist, highly self-motivated with good communication skills. The candidate should have previous and documented experiences in electrode implantation, calcium imaging, virus injections, behavior related to avoidance, pain and anxiety. Tissue dissection and single cell isolation are considered a plus.
Fluency in English is a requirement.
