A position as a Research Assistant is available in Ampatzis Laboratory at the Department of Neuroscience, Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm.


Your mission

The research activities of the research assistant will focus on bioinformatic analysis of gene expression data in different vertebrate brain. This work will include analysis of data generated with the latest Spatial Transcriptomics technology, and thus also handling of image data, as well as single-cell sequencing. The Research Assistant will interact with other team members extensively.

For this purpose, we are looking for a Research Assistant with previous experience in Spatial Transcriptomics data analysis as well as knowledge of several programming languages such as Python, R, Matlab.

The research Assistant will work closely to our collaborators located at the next-door Science for Life Laboratory.

Specific duties and qualifications

  • Establishing and performing analysis workflows for Spatial Transcriptomics data
  • Establishing and performing analysis workflows for single-cell data
  • Attending seminar, courses and conferences

Your profile

Skills and personal qualities

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative person with proven experience in the field of bioinformatics. The successful applicant is expected to hold the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good communication skills in both spoken and written English are requisites.

Required

  • Master of science in bioinformatics or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of working in bash, R and the Seurat package
  • Good knowledge in English. Good presentation skills in text.

Desirable

  • Practical experience of image data analysis.
