The research at the division of Pediatric Oncology and Pediatric Surgery is focused on clinical problems and includes clinical research projects, and translational experimental research. The NORDFERTIL Research Lab Stockholm is part of the Childhood Cancer Research Unit and located in the new research lab at BioClinicum. The main research focus of this groups is related to reproductive biology, with special interest in fertility preservation in children subjected to high gonadotoxic treatments.


Your mission

We are looking for a temporary research assistant position to work primarily on histological analysis related to male gonadal development. This position includes the following duties:

  • Archiving of histological tissue samples
  • Basic and advanced staining methods
  • Processing of fresh and fixed tissue, including embedding procedures 

Your profile

We are looking for a research assistant who has obtained a basic or has equivalent scientific competence in the field of medical sciences.

The successful candidate should have experience with at least some of the laboratory techniques mentioned above. Experience in working with basic staining methods related to male reproductive biology and gonadal physiology in humans is considered an advantage. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively is a prerequisite. Previous experience of histological and laboratory work is required. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Due to the bi-national character of the project, involving clinics in Germany, knowledge of the German language as well as a medical background is a strong plus.

We are looking for an ambitious, highly motivated individual with a solid background in medicine. The successful candidate has obtained a BSc degree latest at the start of the employment or has equivalent scientific competence.
