We are looking for a Research Assistant, formally based at the Division of Sensory Organs and Communication (SOK).


The position

In your future work, you will assist in various experimental steps, such as cell culture, protein and gene analysis, image analysis, data extraction and analysis, and microscopy of tissue samples. There may also be some work with animal experiments that requires special training to be carried out.


The person we need

We are looking for you who have a master's degree in biomedicine or comparable knowledge and experience, as well as several years of experience in laboratory work. You are expected to have a team-based way of working and a good ability to document methods and results. The position requires documented knowledge of cell culture (epithelium and nerve cells) and microscopy (fluorescence, light). It is a requirement that you have previous experience with mouse models of eye diseases and experience with exosomes (handling and application in vitro), and experience with laboratory experiments with RNA/DNA.

The position requires basic knowledge of spoken and written Swedish as well as very good knowledge of spoken and written English.
As a person, you are flexible and quality conscious. You are characterized by great integrity and have good communication and cooperation skills. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.


The workplace

You will work at the Division of Sense Organs and Communication (SOK) , in Neil Lagali's research group that conducts clinical and preclinical research in eye diseases and rare diseases where we use cell and animal models as well as advanced imaging and genetic analysis. The group consists of 2 research engineers/postdocs, several doctoral students and master's students.

The employment

Full-time, temp 8 months. The service is not intended for those with significantly longer experience, e.g. doctoral degree.
