Permanent part-time position, 50%, with starting date as agreed upon. A probationary period of six months may be applied.
The position is located at the Division of Biomedical Engineering in the interdisciplinary research group EMBLA, which is led by Professor Maria Tenje. The group conducts successful and internationally-recognized research in organs-on-chip and droplet-based microfluidics in collaboration with research teams at several different Swedish and overseas universities. Research funding has been obtained through several prestigious awards, including a Wallenberg Fellowship, ERC Starting Grant and ERC Consolidator Grant. Today we are approx. 15 people in the group and since we have recently received funding for two new large projects, we are now looking for a service-minded and results-oriented project coordinator for administrative support to the group.

Work duties
Your tasks will be to organize, structure and develop work routines within the EMBLA group. Typical tasks are: coordinating meetings (both for small groups and larger scientific symposia) and keeping meeting notes, preparing and reporting project and group budgets with the support of the Department's economists, making travel arrangements, updating websites and social media with new research results and publications and helping with financial and scientific reporting to the university as well as national and international research funders.
Qualification requirements
Doctoral degree in biomedical engineering, engineering sciences, materials science or equivalent education in a similar field and documented experience of research, as we believe it is necessary to understand the nature of the research to be able to handle the expected tasks.
As the number of assignments will vary over time, it is necessary that you are flexible and able to be responsible for several different projects of varying sizes in parallel and have the ability to prioritize to deliver within set time frames. We require good knowledge of English, both orally and written.
We attach great importance to your personal qualities and you must be independent, have initiative, and also the ability to lead and run projects as well as collaborate and communicate with people in various areas of expertise. It is important that you are pedagogical, structured, have good attention to detail and can work effectively both individually and in groups. To thrive in this role, you must be humble and enjoy new challenges and different types of tasks.
Additional qualifications
Experience of scientific writing. Experience of financial reporting and evaluation of commercial potential in research projects. Experience of working with research funding is very meritorious, as is documented experience of arranging scientific events for the public. Interest and experience in graphic design and scientific illustrations.
