We are looking for a principal research engineer in computer graphics and image processing at the Division for Media and Information Technology at the department for Science and Engineering.

Work assignments
Computer graphics is one of the core research areas within the division for Media and Information Technology at the department For Science and Technology. Research and application topics are found in a range of areas including representation of data for visualization, image based measurements of physical phenomena, algorithms for image synthesis, high dynamic range imaging, and light field imaging. The area is rapidly evolving and we see that the current position will strengthen the research and development in this direction.

The duties of this position is directed towards the development of algorithms and systems for light field imaging including capture, representation and rendering of light field images and videos. Specifically, you will work with development of algorithms for sparse representations of light field data, compressed sensing for efficient capture, and algorithms for compression and processing. This entails both practical tasks such as experiments in the lab as well as development of software systems. Other tasks include development of compressed sensing algorithms for image synthesis.

Your future workplace
You will work in the group for Computer Graphics and Image Processing at the Division for Media and Information Technology at the department for Science and Engineering. The group consists of 20 PhD students, senior researchers and research engineers and division employs around 90 people.

Your qualifications
The position as principal research engineer requires a Swedish doctorate degree in an area related to computer graphics or computer vision, or an equivalent degree from a foreign university. The applicant shall have documented research experience and expert knowledge in:

•              Light field image and video capture, processing and rendering

•              Capture, processing and rendering of high dynamic range images and video

•              Compressed sensing for imaging applications in general and light fields in particular

•              Sparse representation and compression of light field data

•              Extensive experience in software development using C/C++ and GPU programming

Documented experience and knowledge in any of the following topics will be counted as a merit in the application for this position:

•              Computer graphics and image synthesis

•              Image processing and computer vision

•              Machine learning

Form of employment
Fulltime, until further notice.

Starting date
By agreement.
