Principal Research Engineer in clinical immunology

The position

In your future position, you will actively participate in research projects, including data interpretation, statistical analysis and manuscript work. Other tasks include:

  • Isolation of mononuclear cells by gradient centrifugation, and isolation of different T cell populations using immunomagnetic cell sorting.
  • Cultivation of primary cells and setup of in vitro assays to assess cell activation using the IncuCyte instrument.
  • Isolation and characterization of extracellular vesicles from plasma.

The person we need

We are looking for someone with a doctoral degree, and a specialization within the field of reproductive immunology is advantageous. You also have experience in the following methods:

  • Ultracentrifugation
  • Determination of particle size using Nanosight
  • Western Blotting
  • Flow cytometry

Experience of research in the field of reproductive immunology and of proteomic analysis is advantageous. The job requires excellent proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

The workplace

You are going to work at the Division of Infection and Inflammation in Jan Ernerudh’s and Johanna Raffetseder’s research group. At this division, molecular and cellular research is conducted within the field of inflammation and infection. The research group's focus is to understand how the immune system is regulated during pregnancy and in pregnancy complications. A specific question in the current project is how immune regulation during pregnancy can contribute to the improvement of the inflammatory disease multiple sclerosis.
