Subject description
Entrepreneurship and Innovation comprises organizational development with a specific focus on firm development based on innovative products, services, production solutions or management modes.

The research group collaborates with large national and international companies, small and medium-sized companies (SMEs), policy makers and other research groups. Research results are produced in close cooperation with industry and other actors.

Project description
The research focus of the position will be on sustainability transitions and strategy of a firm and their ecosystem partners. The empirical focus will center on i) the transition towards new technologies required by process industry firms to become climate neutral (like electrification, hydrogen, or increased use of biomass) or ii) the implementation of innovation- and ecosystem strategies by such firms in circular or sustainable transitions, or both. The background to the position is related to the massive green investments taking place in northern Sweden over the coming decades by organizations such as LKAB, SSAB, Hybrit, H2 Green Steel, Northvolt and Talga, and the resulting changes in the form of new value chains, ecosystems, and technological changes. We are looking for a candidate that can engage closely with the industry and drive independent research with high academic and practical outputs. A significant part of the project is focused on addressing business and industrial needs by mapping out transformation challenges, proposing methods for improvement and facilitating the implementation of the proposed methods with industrial actors.

Duties
The current postdoctoral positions include the following main tasks:

- Contact companies in the region and conduct research in close collaboration with them
- Initiate, design and conduct data collection
- Co-author articles on innovation with other researchers in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation group
- Be a collaborative partner for other innovation researchers in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation group
- Write research applications (i.e., for external grants) to expand the external funding for innovation-related research within the Entrepreneurship and Innovation group
- Plan and carry out knowledge transfer to collaborating companies
- Plan and carry out popular science dissemination activities (e.g., webinars, popular science articles, workshops, presentations)
- Develop and teach undergraduate courses in business administration and/or industrial engineering management

Qualifications
We are looking for you who has a PhD, preferably within business administration, industrial engineering and management, entrepreneurship & innovation, sustainability transitions (or equivalent). You should have strong research credentials related to the research project described above. We expect you to have a solid publication track record in journals in ABS level 2-4. A background in conducting applied qualitative research studies in close collaboration with industry is a merit. The position requires good knowledge of oral and written communication in English. Good knowledge of the Swedish language is a merit. Priority may be given to candidates that has a Ph.D. degree not more than three years old.

Employment (100%) for the position is limited to two years with the possibility of extension for a third year. Location: Luleå.
