The Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology at Uppsala University has a broad research profile with strong research groups focused on cancer, autoimmune and genetic diseases. A fundamental idea at the department is to stimulate translational research and thereby closer interactions between medical research and health care. Research is presently conducted in the following areas: cancer precision medicine, cancer immunotherapy, genomics and neurobiology, molecular tools and functional genomics, neuro-oncology and neurodegeneration and vascular biology. Department activities are also integrated with the units for Oncology, Clinical Genetics, Clinical Immunology, Clinical Pathology, and Hospital Physics at Akademiska sjukhuset, Uppsala. The department has teaching assignments in several education programmes, including Master Programmes, at the Faculty of Medicine, and at the Disciplinary Domain of Science and Technology. The department has a yearly turnover of around SEK 500 million, out of which more than half is made up of external funding. The staff amounts to approximately 345 employees, out of which 100 are PhD-students, and there are in total more than 700 affiliated people. Project description:
The Post-doctoral fellow will be employed within the research group of Dr. Åsa Johansson (https://www.igp.uu.se/research/genomics-neurobiology/asa-johansson/ ). The specific post-doc project will focus on the effect of obesity and exogenous hormones on cardiometabolic diseases and cancer, primarily stroke and female-specific cancers. The primary task is to analyze data from the national Swedish registers, with exposures from the prescribed drug register and medical birth register, and disease outcomes from the cancer register, the patient register, the cause of death register, as well as the quality registers. The duties include planning and conducting data analysis, compiling results, and writing and presenting scientific works. Some teaching and supervision can be included in the duties. 

Requirements:
- PhD degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or similar. The degree needs to be obtained by the time of the decision of employment. Those who have obtained a PhD degree three years prior to the application deadline are primarily considered for the employment. The three-year period can be extended due to circumstances such as sick leave, parental leave, duties in labour unions, etc.
- Documented experience in statistical analyzes of data from large cohorts or registers
- Documented experience in programming in R
- Good ability to express yourself in English, both orally and in writing.
- Good collaboration and communication skills, and experience in international collaborations.
- Documented experience in compiling and publishing scientific articles in a related field.
- Documented experience in Cox regression, Poisson regression and causal inference. 

Other qualifications:
Previous experiences in pharmaco- or cancer epidemiology is a merit
