Description of the position
The position is funded from Sonja Engströms stiftelse (91048), Rolf och Irma Lindmans stiftelse (91130) and Ländells stiftelse för medicinsk forskning (91143). .

The position will be placed at one of the departments within the faculty of medicine. A letter from the relevant Head of Department should be attached to the application, certifying that the department is prepared to receive the applicant.

Duties
Research in cardiovascular disease.

Requirements
Eligible for employment as postdoctor are those who have a doctoral degree or a foreign
degree found to be equivalent to a doctoral degree. The degree must have been obtained at most three years before the deadline for applications. If there are special reasons the degree may have been obtained earlier. "Special reasons" refers to absence due to illness, parental leave, commissions of trust within trade unions or other similar circumstances. The applicant must not have had a previous position as posdoctor at Uppsala University.

Asessment
Special emphasis will be placed on academic proficiency within research in the field of
cardiovascular disease. Personal characteristics will be considered. Following the qualitative holistic assessment of competence and expertise, the applicants who are judged to have the best potential to carry out and develop the relevant duties and to help advance operations will be selected.

Application
The application should contain, in addition to your application letter and CV, a list of your
publications, a brief description of your research project, a list of your external research funding and your doctoral diploma. The application should also contain an implementation plan, supported by a certificate from the department head that the department can host the applicant.
The gender equality aspect must be applied in an appointment process if it is evident following a
qualitative assessment that two applicants of different gender have equal or approximately equal
qualifications and if one gender is underrepresented (constitutes less than 40% of those in the
occupational category in question and at the workplace concerned).

About the employment
The employment is a temporary position of 2 years according to central collective agreement. Scope of employment 100%. Starting date as agreed, within six months. Placement: Uppsala
