at the Department of Philosophy . Closing date: 8 November 2021.

We are inviting applications for a full-time two-year postdoctoral fellowship in theoretical philosophy with a specialization in epistemology. The position is funded by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (The Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation) as part of the program "Knowledge Resistance: Causes, Consequences, and Cures" led by Åsa Wikforss. The program is hosted by the Department of Philosophy, Stockholm University. With a faculty of about 60, the department is Sweden's largest research institute in philosophy. Besides philosophy, research groups hosted at the Department of Psychology as well as at the Departments of Political Science and Media and Communication Studies at the University of Gothenburg participate in the program.

Project description
The program aims to study knowledge resistance, its nature and causes. From a unique interdisciplinary perspective, it offers a framework for systematically investigating knowledge resistance both empirically and theoretically. We seek a philosopher with a strong background in epistemology. We are particularly interested in scholars working on epistemic rationality, especially with a focus on exploring the relation between rationality and the emotions. Knowledge of Swedish is not required as the program's working language is English.

Main responsibilities
The successful candidate is expected to produce high-quality research within the program, both individually and in cooperation with other program members, including those in the other research groups. They are also expected to publish their results in journals of high international standing as well as present their work at international conferences, workshops, seminars, and other relevant outlets. The position is focused on research but may involve some teaching, not exceeding 20 % of the workload.

Qualification requirements
Postdoctoral positions are appointed primarily for purposes of research. Applicants are expected to hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.

Assessment criteria
The degree should have been completed no more than three years before the deadline for applications. An older degree may be acceptable under special circumstances, which may involve sick leave, parental leave, clinical attachment, elected positions in trade unions, or similar.

In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills. We welcome applications from highly motivated researchers with a research profile relevant to the project who have recently completed their doctoral programs. The main criteria for the selection of the successful candidate will be the applicant's research merits, potential and attitude.

Terms of employment
The position involves full-time employment for a maximum of two years, with the possibility of extension under special circumstances. Start date 01.01.2022 or as per agreement.
