Postdoctoral fellow in Business Administration, Specializing in Sustainable Marketing
The School of Business, Economics and Law offers a unique breadth, with over 3 700 full-time students, 500 staff members, 160 international partner universities, four departments and three main subject areas – business, economics and law. The School of Business, Economics and Law is accredited by EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA and is thereby the only Triple Crown-accredited business school in Sweden.
The Department of Business Administration is the largest department at the School and offers comprehensive research and education at first-, second- and third-cycle levels in the subjects of business administration and economic geography. The Department has 150 staff members, including 20 doctoral students. The Department is divided into four sections: Industrial and Financial Management & Logistics (IFEL), Management & Organisation, which includes Economic Geography, Marketing and Accounting

Specific subject description
The project “Socio-economic consequences of ecosystem based co-management of the Sea” aims to develop a model of marine governance based on ecosystem services. Thus it includes to analyse how ecosystem services can serve as the base for the development of sustainable business models and sustainable markets. Within this work the post-doc will investigate, analyze and theorize socio-economic, cultural and environmental consequences of ecosystem based co-management of the Sea at the regional level.
Job assignments
The position consists of research responsibilities and active participation in meetings with The Swedish Agency for Sea and Water and relevant stakeholders. The successful applicant will be expected to take an active role in the design and implementation of the project and to publish material in collaboration with other staff at the University of Gothenburg.
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral fellow, the applicant must have a doctorate, a doctorate in the arts or a foreign degree judged to be the equivalent of a doctoral degree. Applicants who have completed a doctorate in the last three years before the conclusion of the application period should be given primary consideration. A person who has acquired a doctorate earlier may also be given primary consideration where special grounds exist, i.e. sick leave, parental leave, or similar circumstances (Appointments Procedure for Teachers at the University of Gothenburg, Ref nr 2018/1166).
Assessment
Research potential in relation to the described position will be assigned particular weight in the assessment of applicants. The position requires documented knowledge and experience of research on the market´s potential to include socio-economic, cultural and environmental concerns. Experience in empirical research in contexts where the market mechanism is problematized and theorized is very important. The position also requires strong English skills in both speech and writing. The empirical research and policy analysis necessitates a developed ability to handle the Swedish language. As the successful applicant will be expected to take an active role in the design and implementation of projects and to collaborate with other colleagues, the applicant’s ability to cooperate and overall personal suitability will be given thorough attention.
Appointment
This position is a fixed term employment 100 % for two years, in accordance with university agreement Avtal om tidsbegränsad anställning som postdoktor (2008-09-01). The position may be extended if special grounds exist, i.e. sick leave, parental leave, clinical duties, elected positions in trade unions or other similar circumstances (Appointments Procedure for Teachers at the University of Gothenburg, Ref nr 2018/1166). The postdoc position, starting in December 1 2021, will be located at the Department of Business Administration, Vasagatan 1 in central Gothenburg.
