Job description

We are looking for a postdoctoral to study corium debris bed remelting and melt spreading during severe accidents of light water reactors (LWRs). The project is supported by APRI group and has collaboration with ROSAU OECD/NEA project. Experimental and computational studies on phenomena associated with debris bed remelting and melt spreading processes will be conducted toward development and validation of models which can be used for safety analyses and improvement of severe accident management of LWRs.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • PhD in nuclear engineering, nuclear power safety, engineering mechanics or similar, with extensive experience from reactor thermal hydraulics (TH), severe accident (SA) research and safety analyses. 

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Knowledge and experience from using TH and/or SA codes.
  • Hands-on experience from lab work related to TH or SA research.
  • Good communicative skills, team work competence and collaborative skills, as well as capability to work independently.
  • Motivation and dedication to research work is a very strong merit.
  • Teaching experience is an advantage.
  • You act according to the KTH Core Values

About the employment

The position offered is for, at the most, two years.
