Postdoc in Neurocomputing Applications

Updated: about 1 month ago
Deadline: 11 Mar 2021

KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm has grown to become one of Europe’s leading technical and engineering universities, as well as a key centre of intellectual talent and innovation. We are Sweden’s largest technical research and learning institution and home to students, researchers and faculty from around the world. Job description

The post doc position is funded by the EU FET H2020 project “The Human Brain Project” (HBP, SGA3), and addresses research in event-based vision and neuronal computation for robotic systems. The successful candidate will explore the use of spiking sensors and algorithms, ideally on dedicated neuromorphic hardware (such as SpiNNaker, Spikey, or Loihi) to control real or virtual robots in the neurorobotics platform (NRP, https://neurorobotics.net ). Multiple experiments are envisioned, ranging from motor-control for compliant tendon-driven robots (e.g. for Neuroprosthetic Devices), up to event-based vision for scene understanding and mobile robot navigation. Optionally technology transfer from the lab environment into industry or Start-up Company. The advertised position might include a 20% teaching obligation.
