The Department of Energy and Technology conducts research and education with a focus on how agriculture can contribute to a sustainable society. We have great expertise in systems for sustainable production of food and bioenergy, including optimal recycling for nutrients and logistics systems. In the method area, we have great competence in systems analysis, including environmental systems analysis and LCA, as well as in biometrics (statistics and mathematics with applications in biological systems). Duties:

This position involves participating in two interdisciplinary EU projects aimed at achieving more healthy and environmentally
sustainable eating patterns as well as more sustainable and resilience livestock systems. The postdoc will be responsible for the
quantitative environmental and social sustainability assessments of foods, diets and livestock systems in these projects. The task includes
further development of data and methods to make the assessments more site specific, robust and automated. The postdoc will work in a
team of experienced researchers at the department and be part of the two interdisciplinary research environments provided by the two EU
project that involve a large number of partners across the EU.


Qualifications:

We are looking for a motivated person with a PhD in a subject relevant to the research, for example environmental, sustainability,
agricultural science or engineering, or similar, and who enjoys working in interdisciplinary projects. Required skills include advanced
analytic capabilities including substantial experience in quantitative modelling, preferably life cycle assessment of foods and/or
agricultural systems. Extensive experience of working with different types of data analysis e.g. statistical analyzes, GIS, and/or
programming are an advantage as well as knowledge of food production, agriculture, ecology or biodiversity. An interest in sustainable
development and how to accomplish a sustainable food system in general is also an advantage. Excellent English skills in writing and
speaking is required and knowledge of Swedish, Danish and/or Norwegian is a plus but not a requirement. Great emphasis is placed on
personal qualities, such as the ability to work independently, flexibility, the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, curiosity and
willingness to learn, as well as a good analytical and problem-solving ability.

Since a postdoctoral appointment is a career-developing positions for junior researchers, we are primarily looking for candidates obtained a doctoral degree within the last three years, completed latest before the appointments starting date.
