Job description
The position is located at the division of process technology at KTH and will aim at contributing with simulation to new decarbonized and sustainable processes for industry. The present post-doctoral project focuses on CFD simulations hydrogen combustion. We consider the flows, turbulence, mixing, finite rate chemically reaction and heat-transfer in the simulations. We use high-fidelity simulations to capture the details of the chemical reaction inside complex flows. The application will be burners used in steel industry and that will replace coal by hydrogen. The work consists of simulation using super-computers, code modification/implementation of new models, data analysis and presentation of the result. The data analysis might include some coding in python for creating/modifying short scripts for using Machine -Learning or modal analysis techniques.

Qualifications
Requirements
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree in combustion science, fluid mechanics, chemical engineering, or energy engineering. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
- Documented experience in CFD simulations of complex, reacting, multiphase flows, crystallization reactors or turbulent combustion.
- Documented Proficiency using OpenFOAM or ANSYS Fluent
- Documented publications in top journals and ability to communicate in English.
- Work independently and motivation to get to the objective.
- Ability to collaborate in a multi-cultural environment.
Preferred qualifications
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
- Use of modal analysis or Machine Learning for data analysis
- Use of super-computer to perform CFD simulations
- Documented experience in implementing new models in CFD codes
- Teaching abilities
- Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality.

About the employment
