Project description: We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral scientist to join the research group of Ylva Engström. The focus of this fellowship will be on the regulation of protein translation and stop codon readthrough (SCR). The primary objective is to identify/isolate trans-regulators that control SCR in a temporal and spatial manner. This will be done by employing a combination of genetics, molecular biology, including Ribo-Seq, RNA pull-down and mass spectrometry, reporter assays in cells and tissues, and computational sequence analyses. This implies to work independently but also collaborate closely with other members of research team.
Qualification requirements
The applicant should have a PhD in a field related to Molecular Biosciences with demonstrated expertise in molecular biology techniques, RNA-omics and/or proteomics, and related bioinformatic analyses. Fluency in spoken and written English, as well as a strong track record of carrying out and finalizing research projects is mandatory.
For this application, the PhD degree should have been completed no more than three years before the deadline for applications. An older degree may be acceptable under special circumstances, which may involve sick leave, parental leave, clinical attachment, elected positions in trade unions, or similar.
