The licentiate student project and the duties of the licentiate student

The overall aim with our project is to improve the treatment of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. We will study both established treatments and novel compounds and investigate their effects on the prostanoid pathway. We will study the mechanisms of action of these compounds/drugs, identify biomarkers to predict increased risk of cardiovascular side effects and suggest treatment guidelines for precision medicine. The student is responsible for planning and performing the experiments, analyzing the data, and reporting and publishing the results in scientific journals and at international conferences, as well as in a licentiate thesis. In addition, the student will participate in doctoral courses as part of the research education.
