Current research in Signal Processing takes place in the areas of measurement technology and wireless communications, in close cooperation with industry. In our research we seek to understand how to infer information from measurement data and how to reliably convey such information from one place or time to another. We are now looking for a short-term project employment as a first research engineer, who can assist unifying the software environment for in our ultrasonics laboratory.

Project description
The ultrasonics laboratory consists of various hardware systems for data acquisition and instrument control. The software for these systems has been written over a number of years and it is now time to unify and standardize the code and the data formats. We are therefore looking to hire a first research engineer over a period equivalent to three months of full time.

Duties
The task will be to go through the different MATLAB software libraries that we have, verify functionality and update when needed. The data acquisition and step motor controller for our immersion tank setup should then be integrated with a graphical user interface, thus facilitating the setup of new experimental campaigns.

Qualifications
You should have a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with experience in MATLAB programming for data acquisition, instrument control. You should also be familiar with the MATLAB App designer. For some instruments, interfacing requires the use of external libraries (in a Microsoft Windows environment), so experience in how to connect to these from MATLAB or via C/C++ is of merit.

Further information
The position is for three months full time or for part time over a period equivalent to three months of full time. Placement: Luleå. Starting: As soon as possible, but no later than February 1, 2022.
