At the division of Clinical Epidemiology at the Department of Medicine, Solna we are on the forefront of research development within clinical epidemiology. We answer research questions of interest to patients, healthcare providers and policy makers using unique real-life data from clinical practice, biobanks and administrative healthcare registers. Your mission

For this position we are looking for up to two biostatisticians who will be able to take the lead in analyzing data related to comorbidities and clinical outcomes in patients with chronic inflammatory disease. You will be requested to put up analysis plans, analyze data using SAS and R, write reports and manuscripts, and provide input on team-members work. You will also be asked to participate in journal clubs, seminars, and research groups meetings. Some of the tasks are related to collaboration projects between pharmaceutical companies and Karolinska Institutet. There will be opportunities for the applicant to engage in a vast range of scientific projects and, depending on the applicants’ qualifications, experience and interests, potentially possible to combine this work with a research education in applied biostatistics


Your profile

We are looking for two biostatisticians/statisticians with at least a masters degree in biostatistics/statistics. The position requires you to be fluent in English writing and speaking, knowing Swedish is a merit but not required. You need to be a skilled programmer, preferably using SAS and/or R. Having a background in medicine/biology/genetics, and experience from working with Swedish Healthcare data is a strong merit. The research groups hiring are highly collaborative and we work together to advance our projects. Therefore, we only look for new colleagues who are interested in collaborating with others. Location

The position is located within the Department of Medicine, Solna. The department consists of eleven divisions and each division consists of several research groups. The position is located within Group Askling: https://ki.se/en/meds/research-group-johan-askling and Group Olén: https://ki.se/en/people/ola-olen and the work will be focused on projects about myositis and systemic sclerosis (Team Holmqvist, https://ki.se/en/people/marie-holmqvist ) and inflammatory bowel diseases (Group Olén).
