Northern Sweden is a European space region with several major players collaborating in space technology and space science. Luleå University of Technology (LTU) represented by the Division of Space Technology located above the polar circle in Kiruna conducts research in atmosphere and planetary sciences, and space system engineering together with graduate and postgraduate education. In close proximity, two other research organisations are located, e.g.  the Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF) and EISCAT Scientific Association. IRF conducts experimental and theoretical fundamental research and postgraduate education in space physics, atmospheric physics, and space technology. IRF also has a national responsibility for observatory activities in space physics. EISCAT Scientific Association conducts ionospheric and atmospheric measurements with radars. The Swedish Space Corporation (SSC), with its Esrange Space Center, provides science, engineering, launch and operational services for international space market.

The Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Technology is seeking an associate senior lecturer to develop the research and education activities at the Division of Space Technology in Kiruna. The division is an internationally diverse team of around 25 academic staff and PhD students. We strive for courage, openness, and trust in our daily work and communications.
