The School of Natural Sciences, Technology and Environmental Studies has around 100 employees, who include teaching staff/researchers, doctoral students and administrative staff. Transdisciplinary activities are a priority for education and research, with researchers and students from varying subjects working together to make active contributions that strengthen multidisciplinarity. Environmental Science is a broad, multidisciplinary area that focuses on increasing understanding of fundamental natural processes, societal functions, sustainable development and how issues relating to the environment and development can be managed in practice. Research in Environmental Science at Södertörn University focuses on two integrated themes: (1) Environment and (2) Sustainability challenges and pathways.
