Work assignments

The purpose of the employment as an assistant professor is to give the teacher the opportunity to develop independence as a researcher and to obtain both the scientific and teaching qualifications required for employment as senior lecturer.

The research and education in organic electronics at the Department of Science and Technolog y (ITN) and the Laboratory of Organic Electronics (LOE) focus on the study of electronically and ionically conductive organic materials in a range of areas including, but not limited to, energy conversion, printed electronics, polymer electronics, photonics, and bioelectronics. The specific focus of this position is as an assistant professor in polymer electronics.

Polymer electronics is a specialized field that focuses on creating electronic devices using electrically semiconductive organic polymers. These polymers have several unique properties that make them suitable for use in advanced electronic systems. They are solution-processable, biocompatible, biodegradable, soft, and malleable. Additionally, they can be easily functionalized to provide specialized excitation, sensing, and activation capabilities. Among the different solution-processable conjugated polymers, conjugated covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have the potential to revolutionize electronics and electrocatalysis by improving intercalation and transport of ions.

The research direction of the position involves developing conjugated COFs, investigating their charge transfer abilities, and exploring their application in electrochemical devices (e.g., transistors and energy storage devices).

The duties of the sought-after assistant professor include supervision of doctoral students and postdocs in their research activities and project management (coordination of national and international research activities with members from several of LOE's subgroups).

You are active in the research community, participate in the division's activities such as seminars and workshops, participate in research projects, communicate results through scientific publications and help attract external research funding.

You contribute actively to the university's development work. Collaboration is an integral part of the university’s research and education mission.          Collaboration in research takes the form of disseminating, making available and utilising research.

Your work includes monitoring developments nationally and internationally within your field of study and other societal developments that are important to your work.

You are flexible and have the ability to move between different types of pedagogical and scientific contexts. You share knowledge and contribute to the working group’s professional development, collegial ways of working and social community. The fact that you are present and active is something we see as self-evident in order to ensure that you are able to perform your duties in an optimum way and enjoy your working community.
