The Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Engineering at Luleå University of Technology is looking for a student who has experience in control, simulation and optimization to work in a project related to control of hydropower plants.

The student will have the ability to work and collaborate with researchers within the control engineering group and from other departments at Luleå University of Technology, in tasks involving the conceptualization, design and control of a Hydro turbine test rigs platform.

Characteristic duties for this position will focus on the following areas:

 - Turbine control design and simulation
- Building real time controllers in LabView and MATLAB
- Experimental demonstration of the corresponding research topics outcomes

You must be enrolled as a student in a university program in the field of electrical engineering, automation or related area and be interested in the design, analysis, and optimization of hydro power plants.

You must be able to express yourself both orally and in writing in English as it is part of the task of communicating the results in English to co-workers and research partners. You are also required to take your own initiative and to be able to work independently.

The service covers about half-time or 80 hours per month, for 4 to 6 months, starting in July 2021. The workload may vary over time and according to agreement. The goal is to distribute it in a way that makes it compatible with your studies.
