CDD-Post-doctoral associate M/F in organic chemistry. Visible-Light Dual Catalysis

Updated: over 1 year ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 29 Nov 2022

The agent will contribute to the design of new transformations, to the synthesis and to the characterization of the targeted molecules. More specifically, he will support the development and implementation of new photo-induced synthesis pathways to obtain the desired products, as well as mechanistic studies to understand them, including using spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques. He will also be involved in the dissemination (presentation) and writing of scientific reports on the progress of the project and publications on the results obtained.
He will also participate in the scientific animation of the group and may be required to co-supervise doctoral students and trainees present in the laboratory.

As part of a Labex Charm3at project, a 9-month postdoctoral research position in organic chemistry is available.
Visible light-induced photoredox reactions are receiving increasing attention due to the unique reactivity and high efficiency of such transformations.
Within this field of research, the research project aims to explore new photocatalyzed enantioselective transformations using dual catalysis, organo- and photo-catalytic, for the functionalization of acids.

This project is part of a collaboration between Dr. Geraldine Masson of the ICSN and Dr. Clémence Allain of the ENS Paris-Saclay who will ensure the joint direction.
The work will be done mainly at the ICSN (http://www.icsn.cnrs-gif.fr ) which is a CNRS Research Unit whose research axes are chemistry and biology and which is part of the Paris-Saclay University. Physical photo studies will be done at the PPSM laboratory of ENS Paris-Saclay (http://ppsm.ens-paris-saclay.fr ), also a member of the University of Paris Saclay and a few kilometers from the ICSN.
